In 1950 Roger Cooney started his own painting and decorating business. Over the years, Cooney Painting and Decorating established themselves as one of the south of Irelands most respected decorating companies, with our core values of Quality workmanship, carried out quickly & efficiently and at a reasonable cost to the client remaining as true today as in the beginning. Roger and his team were well respected in Cork for their quality work which can be seen today in many homes & commercial buildings throughout the city & county.

Mark Dilloughery
In 1997 Mark Dilloughery joined the company, training under his father-in-law Roger. Mark quickly learned that quality workmanship, fair and upfront pricing, flexibility, and dedication to each project, were the qualities that kept the business running successfully since 1950. Mark took full control of the business in 2000 when Roger decided to retire after 50 years at the helm. Roger continued to enjoy meeting & chatting with customers on the sites and did so up until his passing in 2005.
Mark is a past President of Master Painter and Decorators of Ireland (MPDI). Mark is also a member of Construction Industry Federation (CIF) having served on the Cork Branch Executive and also on the board of CIF National Executive thus ensuring the business keeps up to date with the latest developments in their area.
